Itinerary 1

By following the pangalanes channel, you will have a full experience. Everything is happening on the banks and here life is organized differently to the seasons or winds. Far from the main lines of communication, the days take place at the rhythm of nature and very quickly we find ourselves out of time!

Day 1 : Antananarivo

Arrival at Ivato International airport, meet our team and transfer at the Hotel.

Day 2 : Antananarivo – Andasibe

Drive to Andasibe, the scenery is absolutely breath-taking. In Mandraka, a brief visit to the reptile Farm.

You are at the edge of the deep rainforest in Perinet (also called Andasibe). Your cottages are comfortable and rather a surprise to find so far away from home.

Check in, have dinner, and then join us on an evening walk into the rainforest to hopefully catch a glimpse of the nocturnal wildlife (perhaps a dwarf lemur or chameleon.  Either way, it is a wonderful experience to be in the deep rainforest as you listen to the night sounds and walk with an experienced guide.

Day 3 : Andasibe

Early start to hike into the forest of Analamazaotra special reserve, one of the easiest parks to visit, to see the Indri Indri, the largest lemur in Madagascar, these animals are monogamous, and do not live in captivity anywhere in the world.

The area is also home to grey bamboo lemurs and brown lemurs, these lemurs are very shy. As well as Parson’s chameleons which can exceed half a meter in length, the Madagascar tree boa, and numerous birds including the Madagascar blue pigeon, the Madagascar paradise flycatcher, the blue vanga and the Madagascar buzzard.   This is a very relaxed and easy hike through the reserve.


Return to the hotel for lunch and an amazing visit to Lemur Island, which is right on the property.  This is a refuge for 44 lemurs which had been kept as pets. The owner of Vakona Forest Lodge took the lemurs in and created this oasis for them.  Take a boat across a very small stream – and be greeted by black and white ruffled, and common brown lemurs. The guide will have plenty of bananas and unbelievably, friendly lemurs sit on the top of your head or ride around on your shoulders – as long as you have a piece of banana for them…

Day 4: Andasibe – Manambato – Ankanin’ny Nofy

Transfer to Manambato harbor and embark on our speed boat to the “nest of dream”. It is about 2 hours boat ride.

Day 5: Ankanin’ny Nofy

Our visit of Palmarium reserve will let us encounter the species protected such as Indri Indri, black and white ruffed lemurs, red-bellied, ring-tailed, crowned lemurs, chameleons and radiated tortoises.
Nocturnal visit to discover the nocturnal lemur “Aye-Aye”.

Day 6: Ankanin’ny Nofy – Toamasina

Following the Pangalanes Channel with motor boat and arriving in Toamasina in 3 hours, enjoy a little city tour and transfer to hotel.

Day 7: Toamasina – Sainte  Marie

Transfer at the airport and flight to Sainte Marie. Meet and transfer at the hotel.

Day 8 – Day 9: Sainte Marie

Days at leisure.

The Northern and Western coasts have the more beautiful beaches; the Iles aux Nattes attracts tourists. The high season is between July and August, the ballet of the humpback whales is an fascinating natural spectacle. Humpback whales migrate to the area annually for mating and giving birth.

As well as the coral reefs offer excellent snorkeling and scuba diving. Just be equipped with just a mask and snorkel to adventure within the shark-free lagoon and to admire the wonderful natural setting of the coralline formations. The pirates’ cemetery at Baie de Forbans, south of Ambodifotatra, stands guard over their memory. Pirate tombs signified by their traditional symbols: a skull, tibias and swords are still in sight.

Day 10: Sainte Marie – Antananarivo

Transfer at the airport and flight to Antananarivo to catch your International flight.

Itinerary 2

This tour takes us through the great landscapes of the West to discover one of its most beautiful sites: the Tsingys of Bemaraha. After crossing the highlands and their red brick houses we board a motorized boat for a 2-day cruise on the Tsiribihina river punctuated by walking in the small villages along the shores and discover the wildlife. A chaotic track will then lead us in a forest of limestone peaks “tsingys” classified world heritage by UNESCO …

Day 1: Antananarivo

Arrival at Ivato International airport, meet our team and transfer at the Hotel.

Day 2: Antananarivo – Miandrivazo

Early in the morning, en route to the West and its large hilly expanses covered with savannah to reach Miandrivazo on the banks of the river Tsiribihina.

Day 3: Miandrivazo – Descent of Tsiribihina river

Morning transfer to the bush port. We board a motorboat or start our navigation on the Tsiribihina River. Observation of the water birds that live along the banks of the river. Lunch on board and evening camp on the banks.

Day 4: Descent of Tsiribihina river

Continue the descent. Crossing the gorges of Bemaraha, Walking tour to discover some natural pools followed by a stroll to a waterfall in the heart of a lush nature where live some  lemurs … Visit and meet local people and discover the typical villages of the region. Crossing tobacco plantations and baobab forests. Meal and night camping on the banks of the river.

Day 5: Belo Sur Tsibihina – Bekopaka

Continue in the morning by boat. Crossing Menabe coastal lowland  to reach the village of Belo sur Tsiribihina. Lunch on board before taking the track in 4X4 towards Bekopaka to reach the end of the afternoon the banks of the Manambolo River at the feet of the Tsingys of Bemaraha. Overnight at the hotel

Day 6: Bekopaka – Great Tsingy

Exploring day of the Great Tsingy. This park is classified a World Heritage, a landscape of different forms where lemurs, birds, bats, amphibians, reptiles, endemic mammals and a flora of more than 650 species of plants are listed.

Day 7: Bekopaka – Morondava

Early morning return drive to Morondava.

Stop at the famous Baobab alley to enjoy the wonderful sunset. Enjoy a photo opportunity.

Day 8: Morondava – Antananarivo

Transfer at the aiport and flight to Antananarivo to catch your International flight.
